Standard 10-team auction draft with $200 to start. We can keep a maximum of 3 players, and you can't repeat positions. First keeper will be Jamaal Charles for $15.

First Question: Should I keep Gronkowski for $22?

Second Question: Should I keep either Percy Harvin for $6 or Brandon Marshall for $37? Marshall's value isn't too much higher than $37, but obviously he is the better player and would be my WR1 while Percy would be my WR2.

Any advice is appreciated.

guessing you kept him for multiple seasons with decreasing value? Because there's no way he went for that last season.

But I'd go with Percy. $6 is dirt cheap for a steady WR2 with WR1 upside

Jamaal Charles at $15 is a damn steal.

Percy Harvin at $6 is very good too...I'd keep him considering he's really the only receiver they have.

Not sure about Gronk...that's a toss up. The question is would you pay $22 for him this year if you didn't have him on your team? Hell...you might be able to drop him and pick him back up for cheaper than that.

I do like Brandon Marshall a lot but I hate that Alston is across from him. It's like flipping a coin to see which one snags the next TD grab. $37 is a good value for him though

I'd keep Charles (obviously), Harvin and Marshall. The value you have Charles at sets you up nice for the redraft and now you'll be able to spends a lot for another big time player,

To answer the Charles question, I got him for $11 two years ago when he was coming off the ACL tear. Everyone was afraid of the injury so I got a steal and have kept him at a 10% increase every year (so $13 last season, $15 this season).

That's what I've been debating as well. In mocks I've seen him go for $28 and I've seen him go for $18, and everywhere in between.

I can't keep both Harvin and Marshall. You're only allowed to keep one player per position. So it's either one or the other.

Ahhh that's right....my bad.

Yeah keep Harvin then and go get a big time receiver with the money you had on Marshall.

I just had a draft Saturday and I went all out for my receivers. Got Dez Bryant for $45, Julio Jones for $32, and Randall Cobb for $30 as my flex

You can always go and get Marshall. I doubt you can go and get Harvin for $6. He's likely to go for $20 I'd think. Marshall you might have to pay $40 for, depending on the people in your league (I've seen people pay out the arse for elite WRs)

That's kind of where I'm leaning as well. I know Dez, Jordy, And Calvin will be kept, and probably AJ. So hopefully I can get Marshall or DT88 for a reasonable price and have whichever one along with Percy for around $55.

I would keep Charles and Gronk. The inflationary dollars you save on Charles will more than make up if you over spend a few bucks on Gronk, who if healthy is a beast.
To me the real decision is Marshall. I would go through and see what other WR you think will be available. But if 2-3 other top WR are coming back I would toss him back. If the others are under value and likely to be kept, I would think hard about keeping him.
Toss Harvin back. Don't send on bench guys. I can't see you not having better options at WR2.

I went back and looked at some mocks I did. I may would keep Harvin for that. You could use him as a flex top bench option. He averaged around $15 in the two mocks I did. Top WRs like Marshall all went around $40. Gronk went for about 25. Remember too keeper scarcity and inflationary dollars are usually rerouted to the top available players. So I would probably keep all four, try to get another good RB and WR. You will have $115 left, which will go a long way. Especially since you have RB1 nailed down.

Who is your QB and why are you not thinking of keeping them?

Would definitely keep Charles
Yes to Gronk
Go for Percy

Off sheer upside, Percy is among elite WRs...and at $6, that's about the most bang-for-your-buck you can get in terms of upside.

Obviously he needs to stay healthy but at $6, you can't go wrong

QB situation was terrible last season. I got Kaepernick and Wilson for cheap ($8 each) thinking SURELY one of them had to pan out and be a top 5 or 6 guy....

I would keep all 4 if I could, but we are allowed to keep a max of 3 guys, and you can't have more than one guy per position kept.

So an update on the Marshall/Harvin dilemma...

We haven't had to turn in our keepers yet, so I don't know for sure if this is accurate, but in all likelihood the following WRs will be kept by others: Calvin, DT88, Dez, AJ, and Jordy.

That's a lot of the elite and near-elite WRs that will be off the board. Should that be taken into consideration? I'm just worried that with Marshall being the only elite WR in the pool he will be worth a lot more than his ADP.

Julio Jones?

I also think that Randall Cobb will put up better numbers than Jordy Nelson if he stays healthy. He will also be a top 5 receiver at the end of the year in PPR formats

I'm on the fence as to whether the person with Julio will keep him. If he wants to, he'll have to pay $41, which is a bit over Julio's ADP, and he has the option to keep Pierre Garcon for $15, which I think is a better value.

If it was me, I would keep Pierre or neither in that position, but you never know.

Yeah I got Julio for $30 in my auction draft (12 team, $200 budget). I though I got him for a steal imo

Let them keep those guys. They are going to cost $$$$, and in the end, you will benefit if you go with the bargains.

Go Charles for $15, Harvin for $6. Did you say you could keep Kaepernick for $8? That's probably around half of what he will go for. He's a different QB when Crabtree is healthy, not to mention the other weapons they added.

You keep those three and you have a guy at each position. It won't leave you with the mindset of you have to get X or Y position. You can sit back and decide when you want to go as players are nominated. You will have kept 3 guys for under $30 while other teams have 1 guy costing $30 alone. WR is so deep, don't panic if you don't have a stud there. There will be one available who will compliment Harvin nicely

Nah, go for top players. Draft bargains. Keep Charles, Gronk, Marshall. If that's all that's coming back you will be in bidding war. Remember inflationary pricing all goes to the top guys generally.

It's a 10 team league where a possible 30 guys can be kept. Cant repeat positions.

There will be tons of talent in the pool even if every team keeps 3. If the owners are smart, they are keeping some value players, meaning high priced studs will be available. $$$ will trump.
