Food - All inclusive in Caribbean or messico?

I know. I know. Good food at most all inclusives is not a likely event. A few of our friends asked if we wanted to do one next year. Rather than bitch about it I said sure. What the hell. I like to drink on the beach.
So, I'm looking for suggestions on places that are known for having more than feeding troughs. Location really is fairly irrelevant as we're just beaching it.
Spare me the rant on an all inclusive as i agree they aren't my favorite way to vacation.

Our honeymoon was at a palace resort all inclusive and I would recommend it.

Headed to riviera maya Mexico next week. Going back to same place we went a few years ago because the place is awesome and food is actually gourmet. Nothing like the sandals we went to for our honeymoon. Going to el dorado seaside suites but they have a few more in the same area owned by same company that's the same concept. Family version is the azul beach resorts they have if bringing kids. Place is on sale as of us booking 3 wks ago.

Look at the Excellence resorts. Not you typical all inclusive.

I agree you f'n corksoaker. We have been to the Aventura Spa Palace on the Maya Riveria and found the food above average. Drinks were good too.

We went to Grand Velas in Playa Del Carmen last summer. We had some decent breakfasts and lunches, but the dinners were fantastic. Definitely worth checking out.

That's the one we went to. Adults only. Had a great time
Since then, I see they have new resorts that didn't exist when we went and some have gone through major renovations. Would love to go back some day. Hubby won't go near Mexico right now. I don't get into all that stuff. I just wanna have fun.

If Mexico go to playa adults only and you will be fine. Make sure they have plenty of options so you're not eating the same stuff every day
Did Cayman Islands and didn't go all inclusive and enjoyed every minute of it but Mexico you want to stay on the resort

This. Excellence is the shite.

As the others 2 guys have said, Excellence is the only answer. All the food we had was great.

Mexico is nice, because even if the food isn't terrific you can still get great Mexican food for cheap
Carribeean is more expensive in my experiences

We stayed at the Excellence Costa Maya and it was great. Food was really good. They had 4-5 different options for dinner, so if you're there 5 nights you don't have to eat the same meal twice. Hibachi, Italian, Mexican, Steak house and French. It was good stuff.
