Man brutally attacked on St. Roch Ave. -- NOPD supposedly does not take report.

NOPD says they were dispatched to the scene, victim says he never heard from them.

I've heard of NOPD not taking reports. It's a way to keep crime stats down.

Damn. I know it's the OT and the cop hate is heavy but this story should be about a random group of kids beating a pedestrian.
It's pretty apparent from reading the story that the guy was dazed that night. Maybe EMS snatched him up before the police arrived. Who knows? Regardless, this story is disturbing in its own right.

Its suspected NOPD does this for non-lethal shootings and there's no reason to think it doesn't happen for other crimes.

That he was beaten in the street, then he was taken to the hospital and 3 hours later left without police contact is terrible. That there answer is that they didn't find him at the scene and he didn't answer his (stolen by the kids the beat him) cell phone is embarassing.
The kids are a huge problem but so is the lack of urgency by the police.

Sad part is there is nothing the citizens can do about it. I am shocked at the people I see in this city walking around as an NOPD

People who helped him also noted that NOPD never came.
NOPD is gonna come out saying he's a schizo, did it to himself (I know they won't, but I wouldn't put it past some cops).

They also constantly get neighborhood names, street names, etc. wrong. It seems like half of their reporters are from New England though.
