In particular, non fiction.

I recently finished Game Over about the rise of Nintendo. I also read Masters of Doom a while back about ID software, John Carmack, and John Romero. Both were great reads.

Are there any others out there people would recommend? I know there are plenty of good fiction books taking place in game universes too.

All of the HALO books are surprisingly well done. Really open up the universe. One series I would really advise is The Forerunner Saga by Greg Bear. Fantastic reading and explains a ton of backstory the games only hinted at.

I liked console wars. If you just finished game over, then console wars would be a good read. It is almost part 2 starting out with Nintendo as top dog and Sega's attempt to break into the N American market

This was on my doorstep from Amazon this morning. I can't wait to start it but I have about 4 other books ahead of it on my bookshelf. Reading and gaming is a hard combo of hobbies to keep up with.
