The wife and I have a week off at the end of August. Week before opening kickoff

We have an 8 month old, so we don't wanna stray too far. So I suggested that we just get a cabin in a state park. She thought that was a great idea. So the only two places I could think of was Chicot or Palmetto. It obviously has to be family/kid friendly, but I want good fishing as well.

Any other places you guys might suggest?

Chicot is closest to us. I'd love to do Toledo Bend, but all I have is a kayak. I usually go with my dad or brother when I go there. They have the nice bass boats. I think it would just be a cock tease without the big boat.

I'll have to look into Bogue Chitto and Poverty Point. Any kid friendly stuff there?

Bogue Chitto has a small water park area I believe. It used to be my hunting lease until Weyerhaeuser sold it to the state.

Would like to do something like this also since beaches are packed right now and my dogs love swimming at the beach. Are any of these pet friendly and have places where dogs can swim. Any in Mississippi?

Seriously considered this. Don't know if my wife wants to go that far. Looks nice though.

Good part about the time of year my wife and I normally vacation, most schools are back in. We went to the the Smokeys last year. It was us and a few old people every where we went. Gonna enjoy that before my little boy starts school.

generally, some of the cabins are "vacation quality", fairly nice.

We usually try and go after labor day once everybody is back in school and the rates fall. Other problem there are just two areas that have dog friendly beaches. One is dauphin island the other is cape San blas.

Carencro.

Wife has to breast feed our boy approx. every 3 hours. That's where the issue is for her. I'll look more into it and see what she thinks. Thanks!

Well, does this happen regularly out there? Or did this guy just get lucky?
