I am seeing a lot more of these types professionally. They are acting like its a legit form of retirement. Seems pretty trashy.

Yep.

Lots of "disabled" people out there who seem to walk around walmarks just fine.

I have disability insurance. If I get injured and can't work, then I get paid, bruh.

I've seen many of thee disabled collect their checks and start their own businesses involving physical labor.

Seriously?

This is the third time I've heard of this and I'm paying attention now. Who's doing this, where is this is happening and how is this coming up?

Our local "disability" lawyer has like ten offices and huge billboards fishing for these gutterpuppies. Sickening. Thanks for contributing to society.

Had a friend that worked in the disability office while he was in college. He said it's frighteningly easy to start collecting disability.

Standard procedure in Avoyelles Parish. Guys too disabled to work, hunt and fish with ease.

On the wimmins side, disability due to mental issues. Can't necessarily argue, as they are all crazy.

Is disability based on standard of living or a flat rate type deal

I have a cousin who is a few years older than me, who pretty much broke every bone in his foot and ankle in 2011. He's had almost double digit surgeries, and is able to collect disability, but everytime I see him I can see that he is miserable and would do anything to get out and be able to work again. The thing that keeps him from going crazy I guess is that he stays home with his little son who is a toddler.

It's been a thing for a long time. In fact, it's such a thing that the fakers make it hard for the people that actually need help to get it.

A guy that worked for my uncle for years just died from Alpha-1 and fought and fought to get disability so he could maybe quit work to fight his disease and was denied at every turn.

The more accurate description is disability is the new unemployment. People with "mental" disabilities who apparently can't even work a cash register or sit at a table and answer a phone.

1. Fake a psychiatric illness.
2. Collect disability.
???
Profit!

I am seeing this more and more since the retirement age has been set so high, peoples bodies start breaking down before they reach it.

Many companies don't make any concessions and will force them out...even when they would prefer to still work. Seems pretty trashy.

When you get into your 50's it is tough, tough, tough to get another job.

So you can get it for a mild mental disability?

I knew you could always get it if you had serious mental issues, but there is no way someone in a disability office or doctors office can think half the people walking in there are seriously mentally disabled?
