I'm having an ongoing debate about this. Both cities are historically southern, but many people in the Deep South don't consider either to be part of the South anymore. Which do you consider to be more "southern" (culturally, not geographically, obviously)?

Richmond has a NASCAR track. Houston doesn't.

These days, Houston. Richmond is full of Yankee transplants and union politics. Houston is oil and gas and South East transplants.

I was shocked at the amount of Asians in Richmond. For me, Asians are more a part of southern culture than Mexicans so I'm going with Richmond.

Houston has the largest Asian population outside of the West coast. So by your standard, you agree it's Houston.

Richmond is a fantastic Southern city.

Houston is a mega shite hole. It has no culture and everyone is only there for work.

Oh, then maybe Richmond.

Screw this question on this board. Louisiana people hate them some Houston. People will say Richmond without ever having been to one or the other city.
