Taken 2: question

I Saw "Taken 2" last night, great movie but I had one question. The character Kim turned 17 in the original movie in 2008. That means she should be at least 22 by this movie (made in 2013). Why is she still living with parents and just learning to drive?

As with most movies, just turn off the dates in which they were made. In the story, it is almost certainly within 1-2yrs of the original.
The better question is, how old is the actress playing her? I haven't looked it up, but I believe she is in her late 20's now playing an 18yr old. She was on lost like 8yrs ago and I believe she was early 20's at that point.
ETA: Also, if I was 18-19 and could live in that baller arse house, I certainly would.

So I guess Taken 3 is going to take place a year or two from the second? I wonder who will get kidnapped this time.

I'd imagine she's still living at home because she might've been traumatized after being kidnapped. Also, Taken 2 was not a good movie.
