Got asked last minute to be the 12th team in a fantasy football league. Draft is tomorrow and I've never done an auction draft.

I'm familiar with the concept and how it works but I was just looking for some last minute advice from some that have done these kind of drafts. Much appreciated

Do as many mocks as you can to get the feel for it before tomorrow.

Determine how much money you want to spend on each position before you get to the draft. If you spend more on said position than expected, don't panic. Just adjust your prices for other positions.

Use the Average Price as a guide, but if there's someone you really like, don't be afraid to pay more than the average.

I like going studs and duds, but that's just me. Meaning, I'm ok with having nothing but $1 players on my bench if it means my starting lineup is stacked.

Don't bid on a player just to drive up the price unless you will be ok with taking that player at the price you put. Nothing is worse than getting stuck with someone you didn't want or need just because you wanted someone to pay a couple extra bucks for him.

Early on, throw out people you don't want so other people will lose their money earlier than you. But watch the rest of the room and if you notice that players are going for less than their value, that might be the time to throw out someone you want.

Finally, just have fun with it. I think Auction Drafts are far superior to Standard Drafts (just my opinion).

Ended up with this as my roster after the draft.

QB- Phillip Rivers
RB- Montee Ball
RB- Andre Ellington
WR- Dez Bryant
WR- Julio Jones
Flex- Randall Cobb
TE- Eric Ebron
D/ST- Saints
K- Blair Walsh

BE- C.J. Anderson
BE- Josh McCown
BE- Roy Helu
BE- Stephen Jackson
BE- Austin Seferian- Jenkins
BE- James Jones
BE- Brandon Lafell
BE- Lance Dubar

I like my starting lineup on paper. If they all stay healthy they can be really good. I went all out and spent a lot for my receivers and I really wanted Cobb as my flex....it's a PPR league. I kind of overpayed for Montee Ball but I wanted to make sure I got a solid #1 RB bc they were going off the board fast. Also if McCown does half of what he did in Chicago last year then he may be my starter. VJax and Mike Evans are not nearly as talented as Marshall and Jeffery, but they could be matchup nightmares for defenses

Really wasn't sure who to get towards the end. Thinking about switching out James Jones for Nick Toon and maybe dropping one of my backup rbs and grabbing Jonothan Dwyer (backing up Andre Ellington in Arizona now).
