Pro Bowl guard Carl Nicks' time with the Bucs is over. He and the team have agreed on an amicable settlement.

Did he get to keep his MRSA as a parting gift?

Is he healthy enough to play?

I would hate to see that dude's career ruined. He was such a beast.

I'd assume this development means that things aren't looking good for him. That antibiotic resistent staph infection can be some pretty serious stuff.

Shades of LeCharles Bentley, a previous Saint who got injured on his first day with the Browns and nearly lost his leg to MRSA.

Even though I hate the Bucs, this sucks. I loved Carl Nicks. He must not have recovered from that injury he had.

But that is terrible news to hear about Nicks. I hope its nothing overly serious but damn that isnt good if he is stepping away from football in his prime.

Another tweet from Jay Glazer:

People hoping Nicks will go back to NO or elsewhere, not happening, he's stepping away as he's still not physically where he wants to be

If Loomis had franchise tagged him, he'd still be in Nola.

Someone posted on pats fans (hate that place) that the Pats should trade a 3rd or 2nd for Nicks

Can't wait until I don't have to go there for training camp info anymore

Didn't Vaughn Johnson have a bacterial infection end his career?
