The family and I will be traveling through Opelousas around noon today. I'm stopping at Targil Seasoning for a refill on my favorite seasonings they offer. They only sell in house M-F or on-line. The shipping cost for on-line orders is the same as the material costs, which infuriates me when I run out of Stuff-A-Roast.

We will be needing these additional things while in Opelousas today:

1) Good lunch recommendation

2) Place to buy some fresh fish: We are headed to Toldeo Bend for an extended weekend with two other families and I'm frying fish this evening for everyone. I prefer to stop in Opelousas and get everything so that we don't stop again.

TIA

Pizza shack and it's not even close.

I'd say bourques in port barre for fish.

Palace Cafe or the little deli next to it (I think called Back in Time). Decent atmosphere with the courthouse and such too.

Palace Cafe

I try to time my trips so I can have crawfish bisque for lunch there. One time I stopped at 10:30 a.m. Screw it, close enough.
