quote:

Adams, Reese said, insisted he check in with New Orleans and make an offer. And so the Titans’ G.M. did as he was told.

Now it was the Saints’ turn to be surprised.

“So I called ‘em and I said — and trading one spot — I said, ‘I need to trade with you guys, and I will give you a ‘two,’” Reese said. “They said, ‘A TWO?’ I said, ‘Yep, a two.’ They go, ‘Why?’ And I said, ‘We want that spot.’”

Reese continued: “And he goes, ‘You know something we don’t. He goes, ‘We’re not going to trade.’”

Said Reese, concluding his story: “I laughed about that forever.”

Reggie Bush was the right move for the state of the franchise. He brought immediate excitement. The announcement that the Texans passed on him was a huge deal

You can't risk trusting them there.

It was actually the 39th pick in the draft but I wouldn't have chanced the Titans changing there minds and taking Reggie then there is a large chance we wouldn't have won a championship.

On the "do know" side three years later we win a super bowl and those guys laughing...aint won jack.

I would change absolutely nothing since the Payton era started. Not even if we could go back and pick-up Aaron Rodgers as an UDFA. Our championship is forever in stone

We couldn't have passed on Reggie at that point. He never lived up to his potential while he was here, but he still helped us win a championship. There's no way to tell if we would if we didn't draft Reggie.

Remember, Reggie was moved around a lot so Drew could read the defense.

I hope we bring back the WR end around and the Fake WR end around.

It was money

Even though we would have been moving down only one spot, a second round pick doesn't seem like a lot of value to me when you are that high in the draft. I'm fine with the way things worked out.

With that 2nd round pick we could have gotten:

MJD
Marcus Mcneill
Greg Jennings
Andrew Whitworth
Devin Hester
Tim Jennings

Exactly why the trade would have been pointless. Within 5 picks of the 39th selection, there we're many great players to pick from.

These are players picked after us up to 12 that made an impact:
Vince Young (I think we would have picked him or Leinart to be honest, I don't think we'd go with Cutler)
D'Brickashaw Ferguson
AJ Hawk
Vernon Davis
Donte Whitner (maybe this and we wouldn't have had Harper in round 2?)
Haloti Ngata

People think we won a super bowl because of Reggie? We'd have had equal success with AJ Hawk

He may have not been the sole reason, but you're kidding yourself if you don't think he was integral to our success.

Yeah if he doesn't run on the field holding that baseball bat, we are toast.
