Article

quote:

As we head into the 2014-15 campaign, five teams have vaulted their way into the championship conversation—three from the East, two from the West.
quote:

Of all the teams on this list, none boasts a bigger, better X-factor than the 22-year-old man-child power forward. In Davis, the Pelicans aren’t merely in possession of a future superstar. He’s already there.
quote:

As it was a season ago, the big question mark for New Orleans lies in how effectively its backcourt—featuring Holiday, Gordon and Tyreke Evans—can mesh. Managing the trio’s minutes (and their egos) could go a long way in determining if these Pelicans have what it takes to vault themselves into the conference conversation.

I know it Bleacher Report but it's still a nice change from all the Pelicans are doomed and rushed rebuilding too quickly articles. Lots of Pelicans hate in the comments.

Does this mean we can play more than one game on national TV?

Davis is actually only 21. The article cannot be trusted!

There are people on there seriously arguing that Dirk is still a better player than Davis. Defense is not debatable. Davis pulled 10 rebounds to 6.2 for Dirk. Dirk only scored 0.9 more points per game on 0.9 more shots.

1.387 pts/fga for Davis
1.365 pts/fga for Dirk

Dirk is a better passer.

In the west? More still, our whole division besides us looks better next year. But always good to hear positive vibes.

Ok, now that's just a senseless statement.

We still have a "backcourt issue" apparently.

Houston definitely isn't better this season (than last season). I also don't think Memphis got that much better this off season, they may be healthier though.

Rockets are worse, not better. Memphis and San Antonio stayed the same, while Dallas improved.

I think it's the toughest division in basketball, but people really are overselling the Rockets' additions and ignoring their losses.

I just want to know if when he said "besides us," he meant that we didn't get better.

The addition of Ariza?

Losing their starting SF and 1.5 quality bench players (Lin is like a double edged sword )

We are getting criticized for our backcourt simply because they dont have defined roles as of right now. Really stupid reason imo.

This article has some serious sunshine pumpin smoke with it. Let's see if they can make the playoffs this season before we start putting Pelicans and Championship in the same conversation.

Playoffs, and i'll be elated

2nd round and i'll fap

Conference finals and I'll drive from BR to party in the quarter at 3 Muses with full Pelicans gear on.

Pelicans Finals arent happening this year. If they did I would self-ban and lurk from now on after a pelitard vote yay or nay.

If we can get a 4-5th seed, I'll say we are in contention next year.

This year's goal should be playoffs and be competitive.

I'm somewhat optimistic, but let's pump the brakes a tad.

I do think we make the playoffs with decent health.
