Just got this in the mail yesterday. Awesome!

Can be inserted into your radio's CD slot or into any crevice on your dash or console.

A thin "badge" slips between the phone and case (if you use a case) or inside the back cover (if it's removable. Or it can stick on the back for iphones).

Magnet is surprisingly strong and holds my LG G3 w/ a dual layered case very securely.

Highly recommend!

I'm hesitant to put a "strong" magnet that close to my battery.

The badge that goes in/on your phone is just a piece of metal. It's only on/near a magnet while using the holder in your vehicle.

I read up on your concern also and haven't found anything that says it interferes or has negative effects on the battery. There were a few articles that mentioned the metal plate may interfere WITH the phone's NFC.

Why do you need a cell phone holder in your car? I don't see the point.

someone already posted it.

the phone has replaced the crappy garmin/tomtom gps units with way more functionality.

if you doni't have a headunit that can mirror the phone screen (like a pioneer appradio) and use your phone for all your music, texting & GPS..this is a great idea.

check out the google auto stuff and you'll see a real compelling reason to make your phone into your car's entertainment center.

google used to make an 'auto mode' for your phone that would detect when you're in teh car & dumbdown the UI to avoid distracted driving..its being reborn as 'android auto' and hopefully will work with your phone and not just an expensive add-on headunit you have to buy with new cars.

FYI i do this on a 98 4runner with a $100 pioneer head unit with bluetooth and its amazing.

Sweet. Hope it will work for non GPS touch screens like in my 2014 Sierra. Subscribed.

Oh, and here's a sweet iPhone holder I saw on eBay:

Actually made my own phone dock recently. I hate suction cups so i bought a mount that had a long arm which i secured to the handle on the A Pillar. Gutted the holder component and filled it with magnets. Out of the way, secure as all get out, and cheap.

I use the Ram Mount X-Grip in my 2014 Ram and my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. Works great in both. I got tired of chasing my phone all over the place. Also I spend a lot of time in both traveling.

I can't imagine not having one.

I'm in my car working all day and I couldn't do with fishing around in the passenger seat for my phone every time I get a text or call. Not to mention following GPS or flipping through my podcasts.

It is a necessity if you all but live in your car like I do.

Ordered mine today. Looking forward to trying it out. I've never used a phone holder which is odd because whether it's music or gps my phone is something I always use in my car.

Got mine yesterday and love it.

Badge fits perfectly between the layers of my LG G3 Spigen case.

I wedged my mount in the crevice between the radio and the dash in my Tundra. Gets the phone a bit closer to me. In the CD slot it's just barely out of my reach and a bit more of a "head turn" to see it. Please excuse the dusty dashboard.

Do you find it to interfere with GPS at all? I suppose it shouldn't interfere with finding the satellites but if the phone is using compass function, wouldn't that affect it? I use waze on iPhone 5s with an iottie at the moment.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I don't think phones use a "compass function". I believe they use gps satellites to perform the compass function...

But no, I haven't seen any adverse effects on using GPS with the mount.
