CC mailing you blank checks

I hope this make sense. It seems that more frequently I get blank checks to use for cash advance (never) or to transfer a balance. I try to recycle as much as the next guy - but I'm tired of pulling out the blank checks and shredding them and recycling the other crap. I called discover and they agreed to stop sending me the checks.
My question is What can be the harm of just getting rid of entire package with the blank checks inside? will it allow others my account info? I hope this makes sense.
On a side note now that I have paid these bitches off now they want more of my money.

Do you really think you're doing the planet any good by pulling out the checks and putting everything else in the recycle bin?

Yeah I get them from BOA all the time. I don't even open the envelope. If I'm not mistaken they have your account number on the bottom of the check. That mailer goes straight to the shred bin at work. I get trying to recycle, but if anything could POSSIBLY be used to steal my identity or defraud me in anyway, it's going in the shred bin.

Cut it off at the source by having them not mail you stuff. I don't think I have a single bank/cc relationship that sends me anything via snail mail. It's all online.
But if you get them, you want to shred them. Someone could potentially use the checks.

I get this from 4 different credit cards just about every month. It is downright ridiculous.
