I've read some dumb threads over the years, but this one qualifies as a top 5.

You'd have thought they'd have learned after the weekly golf thread got the anchor a couple weeks ago.

Phil and Keegan are locks to be paired together. Keegan grinder his arse off to get a top 20 at the British Open. He was playing for a Ryder Cup spot, and I think he locked it up.

As for the third spot, I really don't see how Watson can pick Tiger. That leprechaun with 3 career majors would beat Tiger 6 and 5 on Sunday.

It's very unlikely they'll play each other. Tiger needs to make the fedex playoffs to have a chance at a spot, IMO. If he misses the playoffs, he won't have played competitively for 6 weeks before the Ryder cup. That's too long.

Is the team announced before the PGA? I guess a good showing there could give Watson an excuse to pick Tiger.

Luckily the picks don't have to be made until September so there is plenty of time to see how everybody is playing. The biggest name, Tiger, will get that much more playing time and if he doesn't step up his game, Watson will leave him off the team. If he wins a tournament or two, I don't see how Watson could leave him off. I would be shocked if Stricker got picked because of his lack of links golf recently (even though his game isn't that bad for links golf) and the way he played in the last Ryder Cup.

My 3 based on right now would be:
Keegan Bradley
Phil Mickelson
Brendon Todd (on fire right now, but will probably cool off before September)

Euros:
Poulter (obvious #1 pick)
McDowell
Gallacher

Obviously Jack doesn't read TigerRant

“I couldn’t imagine a Ryder Cup team without him, unless he’s done nothing between now and then with his game,” Nicklaus said. “If I were the captain I would be hard pressed, I don’t care what he does. If he wants to play I would choose him, and I would guess Tom (Watson) feels the same way. Anybody in their right mind, unless (Woods) doesn’t want to play, would choose him.”

And the Tiger haters weren't listening. They must be in a meeting tonight.

Kevin Na.

In the 4 weeks leading up to the Ryder Cup, I would lock him in a closest and pipe in Johnny Miller's commentaries at a whispers volume and have the clip of Na making the 16 in Texas playing on a continuous loop.

Then I would play his psychologically shattered arse against Ian Poulter every fricking day.

Jack knows best. And he also knows tiger. Won't do anything with his game and won't want to embarrass himself.

I would still take poultry over tiger if he's still available.

Frick that noise. Give me someone....anyone....from and I'll take my medicine. And that includes Tiger.

It will be Phil if he's not an auto-qualifier. His game is tailor made for match play and he had tons of experience.

Tiger is a lock unless he derps super hard his next two starts.
