TeamLSU has laid the gauntlet down for Mr. Jackson...I doubt-seriously-he's going to respond to him. Too many folks have heard him working kids families for him to pull off the "unbiased observer" routine.

Why would anyone listen to Strong, especially a RB. If you want to be a premeir back, I dont get it, he hasnt had a back go over 825 yards.

To be fair to JJ, Jeremy Hill did get 25 carries against Auburn this year but it was because he had the hot hand and rushed for like 183 yards. Then against the Aggies, Hill was still featured I guess with 14 carries but only ran for about 76 yards so Magee was able to tote the rock 13 times for 149 yards.
Bottom line is LSU runs the ball a lot and they will find who needs to get the ball.

makes sense....plus you add Darrel Williams, Derrius Guice and David Ducre to the mix that is 4 slots and someone will get left out! God forbid if somehow the staff is able to pull Kirk Merritt with the promise of playing Rb. That means someone gets converted to Lb and someone else will ride the pine.
I broke out in a cold sweat after reading this thread. what happens to the other LSU commit watching this play out. I heard he was good friends with the infamous Tim Williams(Alabama DE former Uhigh Cub) and I get the feeling he is good friends with Nick Brossette since they share the same backfield...
and from where I am watching he practically lives in Tuscaloosa and have visited Texas several times most recently to camp! Oh My God...Oh My God...Oh My God!!!

I think Nick to Texas is worth than most think. If Nick does choose Texas and has a good time, not only did they flip one of our recruits from freaking U-high, but Dylan Moses has already stated Texas as his #2 school behind LSU and I don't want them to have any connection to then as well as Nick potentially being in his ear

I beg to differ. During Texas' Spring game they ran a run heavy pro-style offense which was the most prolific performance that i have seen this offseason and trust me I have watched quite a few. They ran a vanilla offense like everyone else but their timing and performance was impeccable. I was thoroughly Impressed. I think the question will be wether those guys can transfer their spring performance to the fall.
If Texas is successful this fall i think the NFL Scouts will take notice of their stock but that is just my opinion.

What about the premise that a running back only has so many carries in his body. If Fournette carries 25 times a game for three years, how many carries does he have lef at a first round draft pick.
I believe and I suspect most fans and coaches agree, a rested Brosette is better than a tired and banged up Peterson. If Brosette and Guice can carry the mail they will get an opportunity.
Do you you remember the hype for Gary James when he signed sith LSU?
I'm glad Dalton Hilliard had confidence that he run over and around the Florida Gators so he chose to come to LSU. ;)

Back to the OP. There is no way that Nick is going to shy away from competition. And his family turns out to see and support him in force, so that suggests staying on campus would work great. But I also know it would have to be tough for him having been the man since he was in the 8th grade to ride the pine. Anywhere. He is a competitor. A real war horse, that relished those carries in crunch time and didn't mind having a target on him.
In any case, I'm lucky to have gotten to know him over the years, and I wish him all the best. He has worked his arse off to be all that he is, and on top of it all, he's a great kid. Whatever program gets him is getting a great player and a great person.
