Boat Wiring

I have a jon boat that I am looking to re-wire/ add a number of things to. Does anyone have any basic books/websites on 12v wiring that would be helpful? I'm pretty sure I have the basics down.
I will install a 6-gang switch. I would like one switch to be a master power, one for navigation lights, one for an LED light bar, one for bow fishing lights eventually, and one for trolling motor. I plan to use 14AWG, the distance is short.
My plan is to run positive from battery to the master switch. then run positive out of switch to a bus panel. I will install in-line fuses from each line coming out of the bus panel. From the bus panel, each positive will go to the 6-gang switch and then to electronic it is powering.
For the led light bar, I will use a 4-way relay.
Can anyone tell me if I'm going in the right direction, or if I am way off? This is my first boat, but I have wired a number of things in homes and trucks.
Thanks

I did this, exactly, but used a 8-gang instead of 6. For the trolling motor, I used another battery wired directly to he TM. I have an LED light bar, NAV lights, LED rope lights, and depth finder off of the other battery.

Is there any advantage to running those two batteries separately vs running them in series at 24v?

I did it for two reasons, 1) added TM late in the game, originally this was just a hunting boat and it would have been a PITA to wire. I added the TM so my son could have something to fish out of 2) I wanted to totally separate TM from starting battery.

Thanks.
Do you use an onboard charger for your batteries, or do you just charge them with a handheld?

I use this one for my starter battery LINK
For the TM battery I use a handheld.
