LSU's 1st CWS appearance:1986.Can you name the other 7 coaches(and other trivia)

Very random but I was feeling a bit nostalgic, so here goes.
The other 7 teams in Omaha in 1986 were Miami, Oklahoma State, Loyola Marymount, Indiana State, Maine, Arizona, and Florida State.
The only reason this comes to mind is that I read today that Maine's legendary coach John Winkin died over the weekend at age 94. He was still coaching at a Division 2 school til about age 86 when he had a stroke. Maine was a mainstay in the CWS back in the day when regionals were truly "regional". They almost always represented the East.
Anyways...can you name the other 6 coaches besides Bertman and Winkin who were there that year? The avid college baseball fans should be able to get 4 pretty easily...the other 2 you have to dig down for a little.
The trivial facts:
LSU's first CWS game ever was vs. Loyola Marymount and was a 4-3 loss.
LSU's first CWS win was vs. Maine 8-4.
LSU was eliminated by Miami 4-3. As I recall, Albert Belle (or Joey, if you will) hit 2 mammoth homers in that game and flew out to the warning track in the 9th.
The champion that year was Arizona (didn't remember that...had to look it up)
Loyola Marymount and Indiana State have not been back to Omaha since as 1986 was their first and only appearance. Maine also has not been back since.
Notable players:
LSU: Belle, Barry Manuel, Mark Guthrie, Jeff Reboulet, Jack Voigt
Maine: Mike Bordick
Florida St: Luis Alicea, Paul Sorrento
Oklahoma St: Robin Ventura
Miami: Greg Vaughn
Arizona: Gil Heredia
Loyola: Billy Bean (the gay player, not the A's executive)

Agreed. The diehards would probably know Oklahoma State, Florida State, and Arizona because their respective coaches were at their school for a long time (one is still active, in fact)

Arizona-Jerry Kindall; Florida State-a much younger, dark-haired Mike Martin; Indiana State-Mike Warn; Loyola-Marymount-Dave Snow; Miami-Ron Fraser; Oklahoma State-Gary Ward.
I admit I had to check my 1986 CWS program for a couple of the coaches names, but, yes, I was in Omaha watching the Tigers way back when. Florida State had a great team that year, and was the team I thought would win it all. In addition to Alicea and Sorrento, they had a fantastic pitcher named Richie Lewis.

It still amazes me that Oklahoma State and Florida State have been to Omaha so many times and never won it.

He has been at FSU since 1980. He has won as many national titles as you and I combined.

I knew it had been a while, but damn! Skip started in 84. Can you imagine him still coaching?!?!

Trips to the mound would take forever. He didn't move too fast when he was still coaching, for that matter.
I don't see how Wayne Graham still does it at his age.

Graham has to be the oldest coach in the country.
Seriously, Owl once told me he smells like moth balls.

Graham just made 78. I can't think of anyone older in any sport.
Bill Snyder at Kansas State is about to be 75. That's all I got that is close.
Mike Gillespie at UC Irvine is the second oldest baseball coach. He is 74 and just signed an extension to stay at Irvine til 2018.

Amazing how the CWS has changed. My best friend is Barry Manuel's nephew so Barry was always around and always giving him gear. He used to wear this ugly, pastel yellow canvas jacket to school with the words college World Series embroidered on the breast and that was pretty much all they got back then
