Teenager totaled the car. I own it free and clear with only liability ins on it.

Anything I need to do other than sign the title over to the towing company and let them scrap/part out/whatever it and knock my bill down/out?

TIA for any advice here.

Oh, and kids, don't text and drive.

donate it to SVDP? I think they'll take your wrecked vehicle as well.

Put the plate and turn it in before you cancel your insurance. If you cancel before hand, the DMV will flag you. it's APITA.

Drive/Tow to Michoud. Pour gas in the interior. Light match.

Get it in writing that tow & storage fees are paid in full in exchange for your totaled car. Those tow/storage guys are shady.

I thought you needed to sign off the car to the insurance company in order to get their payout?
