Gopher tortoises are serious business. The state and feds will shut down everything on your piece of property if you have them. You need to get permission to do anything. I can see animal rights groups all over these girls. They don't mess around and some of them value animals higher than humans

yep, this. would also add that there are more millennials in their teens now than there were Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, etc. when those generations were in their teens, so you're more likely to come across this shite just by sheer numbers.
