why is "shite" a bad word

in the 16th century, England was shipping the new world (America) manure to help with the growth of crops. the crates of manure were shipped in the hull of the boat. when the hull of the wooden boats would get a little water, the bilgemen were passing out and sometimes perishing when the water caused the manure to turn into methane gas. so, England made a rule that S.H.I.T. was to be marked/painted on all crates of manure before they reached the dock. this stood for SHIP HIGH IN TRANSIT. not sure which a-hole said "shite" is no longer a word that needs to be used in society.

Soon, they will say it as much as possible, but probably not around you.
I was (un)fortunate enough to have much older siblings and cousins who learnt me dirty words at a rather young age.

Curse words are important to a society and language. If "shite" and other curse words suddenly became acceptable, we'd have to come up with new words to use as epithets.
