There is no tailgating until the parking lots open at 4:00 p.m. There is a fence that surrounds the parking lots such that you cannot tailgate in the green space around the perimeter before the parking lots opened like we could at Jerry World.
Believe me....I have called 3 times with different approaches trying to get a different answer. But each answer was consistent.....no tailgating is possible until the gates open. One guy said he knew of the passion that LSU fans have with tailgating and was sorry they could not accommodate us.
In fact, you will need multiple parking passes to create spaces around your vehicle. This is from the director of parking as he said that is what Texan fans do at their home games.

For Texans games you have to have a parking pass in hand just to be in the parking lot to tailgate for the game. You can thank the Texans-Cowboys brawl in the parking lot a few years ago for that little rule change.
It makes me appreciate tailgating on LSU's campus that much more.
Having the game at NRG Stadium in Houston should be great, but the pre-game tailgating SUCKS major balls. I'll be bar-hopping until 7:00.

Just need a game ticket. But, if no ticket, need a tailgating pass.
And yes, that cowboys brawl was the downfall.

I wonder if we as fans should work on the
LSU Athletic department to see if they can get this changed.

Tailgating on a blacktop with no trees or shade anywhere in late August just doesn't sound appealing to me. I think we are going to tailgate at Armadillo Palace and then take a party bus to the game.

Here's an option I'm considering. A little pricey but maybe worth it due to heat, etc.

Yea we will go spend our time in a bar somewhere.

The payout is bigger than most bowl games, and revenue is not shared with other SEC teams.
But yeah, I'm sure the LSU administration was very concerned with your tailgating rights.
Talk about self-centered. Geez, man.

It's really gone downhill over the past couple of years. And it's not where I'd want to be for tailgating for the LSU v Wisconsin game assuming you are going to the game. Little Woodrows in Midtown would be a much better option.

Tough rules for the many who will show up looking to purchase tickets the day of the game.

Ticket scalping is legal in Texas but you can't do on the stadium grounds. StubHub usually sets up in the parking lot of an old car dealership just across 610 from the stadium. Up and down Kirby you should see other ticket resellers set up in tents.

Lucky's has some of the best pizza i've ever eaten. Great place with a great atmosphere. Will go back for sure.

Big Woodrow's is a little far. I'll be in midtown or rice village, then grabbing some margaritas at papasitos across the street
