He has shown that he can dominate major fields. He is a back nine Sunday meltdown at Augusta away from having the grand slam at age 25.

I say he gets to 16 majors before he is done. I also think that he will go down as the second greatest Major winner of all time. What do you guys think?

Go back to the 2011 US Open thread and find my answer. I may bump it tomorrow.

Too bad too, puts him behind Tiger's pace.

When he's on he is dominating. He would have to perform at that level for an extended period to get there. Possible but lots of variables can come into play

To inconsistent in my opinion. I don't know how the guy dominates fields like this and looks so out of control at others. He does tend to step up in majors though.

In some ways, he's like Johnny Miller. When he's carving up a course like he is now, it looks like the greatest golf ever witnessed by man.

That's the trade off I guess. You're either incinerating the field, or incinerating your brain.

He's been pretty inconsistent in the past. Now that he kicked Wozniacki to the curb though he's been playing a lot better.

I said 10 last year but if he can some sort of consistency, it could be more. Dude is a phenom.

I would say 10 also. I think he can win more, but expecting someone to win more than that is just too much. And he is just too inconsistent to expect more.

Just have to see how his swing holds up.

I didn't expect Tiger to get as far as he did. He just didn't seem to have balance in his life and I expected him to either burn out or his swing to not hold up. And to win as many as Jack did you need to be able to win for a long long time.

Rory seems to have that balance. We will see if his swing can hold up.

An aside...I read a column on Wed. predicting who would be in the hunt to win the Open. The 'expert analyst' didn't give Rory a chance. Why? Because his game doesn't suit that course. So much for expert analysis.
