Taking my son fishing for first time. Best place to pan fish in Dallas Area?

I am going to teach my little boy how to fish and I want his first time to be memorable so I'm going to teach him to pan fish. What are some good honey holes in the Dallas Fort Worth area for pan fishing?

While I was in college in Dallas, id use too fish Lake Ray Hubbard. Here a LINK to the Public Access Facilities around the lake. I'd would fish Robertson Park or Lakeview Marina. For bait used worms and bring a can of whole corn. You can also get live bait at the marina.
