Both Bush and Cooks ran 4.33 in their 40 yard dash. I believe Sproles ran a 4.47. We have all seen what Bush and Sproles can do on the field. Saint players are saying Cooks is at a different level when its comes to speed already naming him lighting. Between the three who do you think is fastest. My money is on Cooks.

I would say in their prime Bush, but I'm sure as of now Cooks is.

how far are they racing?

40, it would be close between bush and cooks

100, bush would smoke cooks due to longer strides

Sproles was more the Barry Sanders type, with decent top end speed

I guess it depends on what you mean by fast. Straight line speed? Bush might beat Cooks in an 80 yard sprint. I read today that Cooks posted the fastest 20 and 60 yard shuttles in the last decade. I think Cooks might be the quickest out of the 3, and that might translate to functional, game speed.

I agree with this analysis.

However I will say that Bush would too often use his quickness laterally...if cooks can be almost as fast and do less of the sideline to sideline show, then he is the winner in my book.

I'd have to look but it was said Cooks tied a record in the 40 with the fewest strides with Calvin Johnson. Cooks is a long strider.

Depends on what you mean by fast. At the combine Bush ran 4.38 in the 40 to Cooks' 4.33. I think Cooks is the "quickest" of the bunch.

He ran the 40 for sure. He didn't participate in the 20yd shuttle, 3 cone drill, etc.

Reggie is definitely more elusive and pretty darn quick.

Not according to LINK . which is a pretty legitimate site. And pro-days almost invariably inflate the prospects speed.

It's mentioned in one of the replies above but during the combine someone pointed out that his (Cooks) shuttle times were off the charts.

Not saying it's BS, but I'd like to read it. A 6'5" man shouldn't have close to the stride of a 5'9" guy. Science

I did some digging but couldn't find it. It was in one of the articles someone posted on here around draft time and it's a lot to look through.

I'm gonna look more tomorrow.

Which is why they said it was remarkable what Cooks did. It doesn't make sense but weirder things have happened.

I thought it may have been in the Grantland article but I couldn't find it in there.
