Which do you use for texting? Hangouts let's you text and use it for gchat so I'm debating using it as my sole text/chat app.

The thing I don't like about using hangouts as my full time texting app is because you have to back out of about 1036 screens to get back to home.

Hangouts will combine your text messaging and google+ chat together into one. So if you use google+ chat a lot it makes it very convenient.

I also just like hangouts better than the default app.

I used to beta test for Handcent and there were just too many issues with group texts. Hangouts handles group texts soooo much better. Plus I like the video chat feature in Hangouts. (Handcent may have fixed their group issue now idk)

Hangounts is my default messaging app and works great all the time.

I've been using it for a while now. No complaints. I like how it combines my gchat and text messages. Makes it easier for me.

Why does everyone like Textra so much? What did you use before?

Chomp sms. It's basically the iPhone version of bite sms that you could get through Cydia. It was the only reason I jailbreak when I had an iPhone.

Handcent is MUCH more customizable, especially with notification previews and pop-ups instead of just a message in the notification bar...

But as others said, it's crap when handling group messages, but I very rarely participate in those so it's no biggie to me.

Chomp is actually made by the same devs as textra.. Textra is their new and improved product

I read it is just more streamlined.

Chomp is more like handcent but apparently better at group according to reviews
