Kind of. They are also choosing to cash in on rising home prices caused by gentrification on Austin's east side. When I lived there, a lot of people were already starting to sell and move to Pflugerville, with the reasoning being that you can make some money, get into a cheaper house with lower payments, and still be relatively close to work.

It is pretty logical.

They CITY is being redone. Older lots with smaller homes are being sold for a ton and homes bulldozed and larger homes crammed on small lots.

Many 30 something UT grads are coming back or just never left is my sense.

The burbs are filling and everybody drives into town all the time anyway.

East Nashville is like a miniature Austin. Same thing is happening. All the old homes in bad neighborhoods are getting gentrified, yet they wonder why black populations are leaving.
