Commanders Brunch Dress Code

The website says 'business attire' and 'jeans discouraged'. We have brunch reservations on Saturday morning in a few weeks- is the dress code a little more lax on Saturday, or should I pack some slacks and a dress shirt for it?

Slacks and dress shirt. Why not? You can wear jeans anywhere anytime. Dress up for a nice meal at a nice restaurant.

I wear slacks and either a sport coat or a blazer, most of the time without a tie.

I only ask so that I'm not grossly overdressed- like a said, it's 11am brunch, so I was just double checking. Thanks for the feedback.

Fwiw, I was there for brunch last year. I wore khakis, a blue blazer with a white button up shirt and a bow tie. I was probably better dressed than 90% of the people there, but I was not overdressed.

Save wearing a tux, I don't think a man can go to any restaurant overdressed.

Commander's dress code is always the same. You should wear slacks and a dress shirt at a minimum. That's a relaxed dress code there. When I was there for brunch, most men were in coats, some in ties. I did see a guy in jeans. He stuck out walking in.

I saw a guy wearing jeans at dinner last time I was there, he had on a sports coat, but was definitely under dressed.
I agree with the sentiment of never being over dressed, save a tux.
ETA: the guy I saw had on dark fitted jeans, but they were jeans nonetheless.

Wrangler. It was pretty bad even for me and I'm very accepting of casual clothing. I prefer it myself and I don't pay much attention to other people's clothing, usually, but he walked in straight toward our table and I could see people snickering. Didn't bother me one bit.

Do people feel ucomfortable dressing nice?
I really enjoy dressing nice and looking nice. If I'm going to a nice restaurant, I'll dress up, even if I know all I need is khakis and a polo or whatever.
When I do brunch at Commanders, I always do a blazer and never jeans. Who cares if I'm "dressed up" more than the other guys there?
ETA: I do dinner with some friends and couples every now and then, and there's always someones boyfriend that wears jeans and a polo, no matter where we go.
