My wife and I closed on a home on Tuesday. We are moving in tonight. She was just offered a job today at a different company but making the same salary. Is this a problem if she accepts? TIA

I mean, at this point they're not going to take it away from you.

Yes. No job changes for 30 years. Hope you picked a 15 year mortgage

Basically, as long as you pay your mortgage, they don't give a shite what you do or don't do.

Yeah that's what I thought. But I know the lender is selling the loan and didn't know if the new lender would do another VOE and see that she changed jobs.

This would be the two lenders problem, not yours

Thanks. It's my first house and this has been an exhausting process.

Congrats on the new home.

I've only owned one house. The mortgage was made with a local lender, who turned around and sold the loan about 3 weeks after closing.

The only communication I got regarding any of that was 1) a letter from the original lender indicating they sold the loan and telling me who the new lender was, followed a couple of days later by 2) the new lender telling me they purchased the loan and providing me account information.

No one ever asked for any verifying information. You were approved for the loan, it closed.

If they do an additional VOE be sure to be able to document that she was offered the job after the closing of your house.

Mortgage fraud questions could come up...

But even if it came to that i highly doubt it would be a significant problem as she is making the same amount of money and i am asuming you are the primary income earner.

Congrats!

You went to closing. You can change jobs at will. Just make the payments.

No, after you close, you could quit your job and as long as you make your payments, you are good.

I believe the issue they have is changing of jobs between initial approval and then closing.
