We're going up the night before for a travel ball tourny and we're staying in covington. The tournament is in Mandeville. I would imagine we'll just keep it simple Saturday night so not really asking for info on a place to eat that night(although would be great to know), but looking for a place for tomorrow night that is kid friendly and would be a fun place for the parents to drink as well and the kids have fun and have a cool atmosphere. Anything like this in that area?

Thanks in advance!

Buster's Place has an incredible fried oyster po'boy while still being family friendly and having a decent alcohol selection.

The Rusty Pelican is good

Babaganoush has great and cheap gyros and chicken shwarma

There's an Acme oyster house

Sadly.

Pretty sure every restaurant on the NS is kid friendly.

i would also recommend the abita cafe in abita springs. i was born and raised in abita and the food/atmosphere is better than it's ever been

If you are playing at Pelican Park in Mandeville, there are some restaurants on Girod at the Lakefront that would be good. Rusty Pelican, The Beach House and McClain's are all pretty good and kid friendly.

What he said.

The brew pub does have awesome food. I love stopping there. The stuffed quail with the Purple Haze Glaze is one of my favorite things.

Yep, but I wouldn't exactly call it kid friendly. In fact, I've seen management act just the opposite.

I would say Girod St. is the place. Especially The Beach House or McClains, both have a ton of rooms for kids to run around. McClains is pizza and Beach House is typical bar and grill food.

my go-tos at Chimes are the blackened alligator and spinach and artichoke dip for appetizers and then either shrimp and grits or the crawfish etouffee for entrees

Looks like it will fit the crowd we have too...

Chimes has decks that go down to two docks on the river. There are also goats and other creatures that live on the property. It is a pretty kick arse place.

There is a Mellow Mushroom on 190 in Covington.

Family friendly. Decent selection of beers.
