What would decide who represents the east or west in the SECCG if if were to happen? Before it was based on the bcs poll, but with that gone what decides?

If head-to-head doesn't work (as in this case), the next tiebreaker is division record, then record against the next-best division team, proceeding down through the standings.

If that doesn't work, it gets complicated. The next tiebreaker is records against common cross-division opponents, if any. After that, instead of BCS standings, I think they talked about using strength of schedule: Who played the strongest teams from the other division? Not sure if it was put into place, though. But if so, a team that beat Georgia and South Carolina would get in over a team that beat Kentucky and Vanderbilt, if all other tiebreakers failed.

Patience... This possibility almost inevitably shows up with 2 or 3 games remaining at which point it will be discussed ad nauseum.

Three-Team Tie (or more)
If three teams (or more) are tied for a division title, the following procedure will be used in the following order: (Note: If one of the procedures results in one team being eliminated and two remaining, the two-team tiebreaker procedure as stated in No. 1 above will be used):
A. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams
B. Record of the tied teams within the division
C. Head-to-head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place)
D. Overall Conference record against non-divisional teams
E. Combined record against all common non-divisional teams
F. Record against the common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division; and
G. Changed: Combined SEC record of the team’s cross-divisional opponents

You are. At no point did Texas, OU and aTm have a three way tie for the right to play in the SEC Championship game.

The three schools you were thinking about were Texas Tech, OU and Texas. Texas beat OU, OU beat Texas Tech, and Texas Tech beat Texas.

G. Changed: Combined SEC record of the team’s cross-divisional opponents
This is the major change now that the BCS is no longer the tiebreaker. If LSU, Bama and Auburn, for example, all end up with 1 loss (i.e. LSU beat Bama, Bama beat Auburn, Auburn beat LSU)then the combined SEC record of each teams East opponents would decide who plays for SEC title.
