I'm going to Cordoba in a month. Who has been and do you have any tips? How was the experience?

Went in 2012. Great time. We were at JJ Caceria's lodge about an hour east of Cordoba. Great shooting and the food was really good. Don't take your own guns. Too many rounds through them and you will have to grease some palms to get them out. We were given latest Baretta's to shoot. Have good gloves and a way to wrap thumb as it will shove a lot of shells into the gun. We averaged about 2000 rounds per person per day. Don't get in a hurry shooting as there will always be another group coming up. I bought a Browning gel pad for the shoulder and did not have any problems since we shot 20 gauges. Have fun. It's a blast and the best shooting training you can get.

My buddy went a few months back. They were putting down over 1000ea per day. Said it was one of the most incredible experiences of his life. I watched a few videos he had on his phone and it was amazing. Speed shooting contest to see who could shoot the most birds in 2 minutes, etc. He also said they were treated like kings and the food was some of the best food he has ever eaten as well. He wants to go back asap.

I would budget at least 10K.

Also, police may decide to make you pay a nice penny to return home with the gun. Happened to my dads buddy in Mexico. Just had to bring his fancy over/under.

I would take the heavies gun I own, put in my bedroom and shoulder it 10-20-30 times every time I enter and leave the room. Build up your muscles...

Haven't been but have several good friends that have made the trip a couple of times.
Your biggest expense will be shotgun shells.
Don't even think about shooting an O/U, you won't be able to move your arm the next day.

I have a good friend who went. He said after the second day he limited himself to 300 birds in the morning and 300 in the evening to be able to sleep from the shoulder pain. 20 gauge auto berettas with magazine extensions to hold something like 8 or 9 shells is what he shot. Said he burned up 2 guns while he was there. I think he said ammo was $10/box. He sat on a bucket while Guillermo clicked a clicker everytime a bird fell. After the hunt all of the Guillermos went and picked up birds for hours. He was with a group of 10 men. At the end of the week he took a picture of the pile of spent shotgun shells they had accumulated. It was the size of a small car, I shite you not.

I can't decide if I would want to do this trip or not.
On the one hand dove hunting might be my favorite outdoor activity, and the adventure of the trip sounds great.
But I also hunt for the anticipation and I'm not sure how much I would actuslly enjoy just shooting wave after wave of birds.

I did it 3 years ago. Time of my life. Shoot the parrots they are an annoying lil bunch of birds. Be sure to shoot 1000 in a day. I got a hat and shirt for it. Pretty cool little rememberance. We started playing games. Basically like horse in basketball. First person shoots if he hits the bird then next person has to shoot a bird coming down roughly the same path and so on. If you take blood thinners then expect your torso to be black and blue for the next month. If the place you are staying at has massages get one. They are legit massages and it will keep your arms fresh for your trip.

I live here in Katy. I'm thinking of pioneering backyard pellet only leases.
It is ridiculous how many doves are here. Literally 75% of birds you see at anytime are doves. Like pigeons in New York.

So you have some property or a line on a field we can lease?
