I've been tied up with family obligations the last several weeks, but finally getting back to Cocodrie this weekend.

Weather looks less than ideal, but gotta go when I can.

Thinking Plan A will be larsh on the beach as Mung always suggests (although I've gotta figure out what larsh is by Friday.) Hopefully the wind won't be as strong as the predicted 9 mph S.

Not sure of a Plan B. Any suggestions appreciated.

Can the larsh and use live shrimp. We've been killing the specks in inside lakes all summer long...no need to make the long runs. Many weekends we caught better quality fish than the folks who were heading outside.

I agree that live shrimp seem to have been our most productive bait on my recent trips. Of course croakers will work as well as artificials but as far as numbers go, shrimp have been money.

this. fish are everywhere, but the bite has been funny-- All times of day, sporadic, shuts off quickly, etc. the cuts in islands are producing smaller fish. Beaches are producing nicer fish.

Thanks guys for all the feedback.

Weather not looking any better so far, so the inside may well be the best option and glad to hear some are being caught there.

My rookie self hasn't fished the inner lakes for trout much at all. I'm guessing you just start somewhere and drift across?

The only lakes I really know are the ones off of Bayou Salle.

Is the bait boat going to have shrimp? I thought they closed shrimping in the area on Tuesday?

Call him. This is usually the time they move to Calliou Boca. I think there is a different shrimp zone there, but not sure.

They should all be open.....they passed a law a couple years ago letting people with a bait license trawl for bait year round.
