Regrettably, I have never been to it. I know they were adding on a new wing in the last couple of years. Is that finished?

How long does it take to tour the entire thing?

Hoping to visit it when I go to New Orleans later this year.

It's fantastic. Going this weekend for the second time and I can't wait.

If you really wanted to, it's possible to spend all day there.

Really, really cool. The video is awesome also. Definitely worth your time to go. Some people speed thru it, while others take their time. It could take you an hour or it could take you 4 hours... It depends on if you like to read all the descriptions.

It's amazing. Plan an entire day for it. You don't want to feel rushed, so go first thing.

I was there open (saw the video) to close and felt like I could have seen more.

Awesome! We are going to a musical brunch at the "canteen" connected to the museum this weekend. Live performances of music that was popular during the war.

I haven't been since they opened up the new building but it was very cool. I was there for 2 hours but I could have spent 4 hours easy in there. 4d movie is cool too

It was great.

If you rush through the entirety of it ~ 2 hours.

I suggest you really take your time so that you get to read everything. If so, thatll be around 3 hours.

They are opening a large new part of the museum dedicated to the pacific theatre sometime later this year so I suggest possibly waiting for that so you dont have to go back twice.

The restaurant there is also really great to stop at for a break. The SO and I really enoyed the whole experience.

Having said that, if you are expecting much about the holocaust, you will be disappointed. They do plan on building and entire building next year dedicated to the holocaust though. That will be something to see too.

9.5/10 in my opinion. It was great and really doesnt hold back with the brutality of the war in some of the exhibits, especially those about the pacific theater and the Japanese POWs

It is absolutely spectacular. One of the best history museums I have ever seen and it's beautiful.

Plan a whole day for it. First time I went, I made the mistake of going when I only had about a 3-hour window and I didn't even get to the Pacific front.

I'd say budget 5 hours. Definitely take in the 4-D movie.

Chicken, make sure you go early enough in the day to see everything. I went about 2 or 3 hours before closing and it was not enough time and I regretted it because I was rushed. It is a fantastic museum.

It's absolutely fantastic, an incredible thing to have in New Orleans. I spent 4 hours there on my last visit and that was without watching the movie.

I know people who have planned trips because of it, some of them 9-10 hour drives.

I can't wait to go either.
