I've been using the Benelli M2 for a few years and love it.

I was torn between it and the Franchi Affinity which is similar and costs a bit less.

In the end, the M2 felt more lively in my hands.

A friend of mine got the Weatherby SA-08 recently and likes it.

I'm partial to a benelli M2 as well

Used it dove hunting last year but I suck at bird shooting so I didn't do it justice

3 B's

ETA: I'd just assume to have a O/U for dove shoots around here.

The gun may/will be used for duck hunting by female guests and my young boys from time to time also.

Does anyone have experience with the browning BPS. I like the bottom ejection of spent shells.

Very solid platform and has been around a very long time. But it is a pump.

10 and 12 gauge. May want to check out a wingmaster in 20 gauge. I own the Remingtons and Brownings and the Brownings are pretty but as far as pump guns the 870 takes the cake in my book.

Agreed but if this is a shotgun for womenz and chilluns, a 20 auto is going to have less kick than a pump. Hell a 12ga auto usually has as little kick as a 20 ga auto if you think they can handle the extra weight of the gun. Maybe look into getting a short or compact 12 auto.

BPS

I have the 12GA BPS, not the 20, but it is a great duck gun. Never had the first problem shucking, which i can't say for my Nova 20GA, which gets hung up frequently. Bottom ejection does not distract.

guess I didn't realize that was pump only. Duh

is there a bottom ejecting semi?

I may be looking for two separate guns.
a cheap reliable O/U 20 for the kids/wife
and a more expensive semi 20 for me to dove hunt with.

I just bought a Beretta Silver Pigeon. It's not what anyone would deem "cheap" but I absolutely love it. Even my daughter (who never wanted to shoot skeet) loves the gun so much she's start shooting clays more often than pistols.

I'm partial to the old A5. Maybe it's just the nostalgic look, but I've never had problems with mine either.

Personally I'd switch those. O/U for you. And semi for the kids/wife. When dove hunting I've always shite much better with the O/U than with a semi. Very rare that you need that extra shell. If planning on hunting south/Central American though throw that sentiment out. You don't want an O/U down there. You will be badly bruised.

ETA: I can't think of a semi that has a bottom eject but that doesn't mean that their isn't one.

And I think BPS is short for Browning Pump Shotgun.

If you are going with a 20 for your sons/female guests then probably any auto. I am a browning guy. If you are worried about recoil then go gas operated. So Browning or Beretta. If you are not worried about recoil then Benelli.

BPS are great but i did have a buddy slam a shot shell back up into the magazine during a hunt with me. Ended that shoot for him pretty quick.
