Israel/Palestine experts: How would you resolve conflict in Holy Land?

Seriously...if you had the power to make change happen in the Holy Land, what changes would you implement?
This is a question for the Israel/Palestine experts like Burt Reynolds and a few others who have it all figured out because you visited that region for a very short time and spoke to a few highly biased individuals with agendas.
What is your solution to peace in the Holy Land?

Until religion is eliminated from human consciousness there is no solution. None.

If both sides were honest brokers, I'd let the Palestinians have Gaza and most of the West Bank with Jerusalem being an international city.
I don't see the Palestinians as honest brokers, though, so my solution would be to let Israel pound them into dust until they could impose that two-state solution, under a sword of Damocles that could fall and destroy the Palestinians completely if they decide to start attacking again.
To say I'm cynical about peace over there would be an understatement.

Let them fight and not worry about it.
Israel is not our concern. In fact they might be the most racist country on earth.
Israel of the bible is not Israel of today. Just a country founded in 1948. Christians need to get off of it and open their eyes.

I'm pretty much in your corner. I say it's way past time to just let them fight it out. I think the Palestinians wrongly believe the Arab world will come to their defense if an all-out war is waged.

Realizing that there is never going to be peace in the region and letting them fight it out. They hate each other with a passion, and that hate won't be diminished with diplomatic measures. One is going to have to kick the others arse and to the winner goes the spoil.

I actually hope the conflict lasts forever. It makes that tiny sliver of land the fulcrum upon which so much animosity and religious stupidity balance.
If we can keep the premier theatre of Islamic/Jewish conflict within an area the size of New Jersey, I'll take that. They can keep living and dying over that POS land in perpetuity for all I care. Just keep it there.

I disagree with you. I just don't think we should be involved in their matters. They have proven that they can take care of themselves, let them.

One democratic state from the Jordan River to the Sea with equal rights for everyone, and a constitution which includes language in it similar to the 1st, 14th and 15th Amendments of the American constitution.
EDIT: By the way, how can Israel call itself a democracy when it still doesn't have a constitution after 66 years of existence?

I don't know. I can only throw darts at the wall and hope some of them stick.
There are only 2 real solutions to the Israel/Palestine conflict:
1. Get rid of the Jews in the area
2. Get rid of the Palestinians
They simply cannot coexist. Either the Jews should be offered a new homeland in the United States (maybe sell them one of our old military bases or something) and let them build their own American State there or the Palestinians must be removed or assimilated into Israel and allowed a voice in its government.
The original 2 state solution was Israel and Jordan. Either the Palestinians must be expelled from Gaza or they must be assimilated into Israel and made full citizens with full religious freedom, voting rights, ect.
I say they settle this like they once did in the bible. Each side elects a champion. The champions fight unarmed in an arena in front of the whole world.
If the Palestinians win, Israel is renamed Palestine and Palestinians are made full citizens of the nation. Jews can stay if they want but will have to live along side Palestinians and allow them to vote in elections, serve in the military, and run for public office. Palestinians can win in the ballot box and make they're own rules. They must accept a constitution that mirrors ours but must be actually enforced.
If Israel wins, the whole of the area (Israel, Palestine, and Gaza) fall under Israel's jurisdiction. Israel is free to expel all or some Palestinians from the area and the government is allowed to eminent domain all Palestinian territory.
There is no compromise. There will be no lasting peace because neither side truly desires a peace with the other side still existing.

Do you really think that if they were forced into a "united" country either side would want to stop killing the other?

But Israel can't take care of itself. They depend on the U.S. for everything except the air they breathe, and just as the U.S. had a right to hold the Taliban responsible for aiding and abetting Al Qaeda after 9/11, Arabs/Muslims have a right to hold the U.S. responsible for Israel's actions against the Palestinians.

I understand the sentiment that the US no longer should support Israel, and in theory it is a solid idea.
However, let's talk reality. What happens if the entire Mid East were to attack Israel? What happens if a nuclear weapon is detonated in Israel?
Do you think for a second that the US would standby if that occurred? Would we and our large Jewish population allow the final solution of the Israeli Jews to occur under our watch considering what we discovered in concentration camps at the end of WWII?
Fact is, if shite blows up over there, we will get sucked in. Period.
Therefore, how would you resolve the conflict in the Holy Land considering reality?

The settlers might not stop misbehaving, but the Palestinians would have no reason to hate Irsael if they had the same rights as Jews.

That plan worked out SO well for them in 1948, 1968, etc.
I wouldn't count on a lot of aid right now considering that Egypt's army is against Hezbollah, which it sees as an ally of the Muslim Brotherhood, while Syria is in a full-blown civil war.
Iran may send them aid, but I doubt that the Palestinians are a high priority to them as compared to what's going on with the oil fields in Iraq.

Why stop there.
North Korea can blame us.
Vietnam.
The entire arab penninsula.
Mexico and the entire US southwest.
Central America.
The countries trapped behind the iron curtain and the balkan crisis.
Hawaii.
etc....
Blame is easy taking responsibility for one's self and one's country not so much.

I'm fine with the US withdrawing all support to Israel under the condition we also withdraw support to everyone else in the region. We keep taking out loans from China to give handouts to foreign nations, which is just asinine. (Yes, I know I'm overly simplifying the situation)

Well, the Arabs did try to defend the Palestinians in 1948, albeit ineffectively, but I have no idea what happened in 1968 that you're referring to.
