Had a Moto X, broke the glass. Got new glass in today and tried to replace it, ended up breaking the digitizer.

Im eligible for an upgrade, so either of those phones are cheaper than buying the digitizer. Im not interested in Iphones.

Which Android for $200(upgrade price) and under is the best?

Tell us what matters most to you. Can't go wrong with either one.

Camera quality?
Build quality?
UI?
Screen size?

I'd go with the M8 because it seems to be the best overall device.

Honestly, Id rather just get as close to the Nexus 5 as possible.

And despite all the rage, I like smaller screens and a long battery life.

Dont really need it for much:
facebook
pandora
tapatalk
gmail
evernote

were pretty much the only apps I used.

G3 for sure. G3 leads the charge, then the M8, then the GS5 for this year thus far.

Here is PhoneArena's G3 vs M8 article

They go with the G3 convincingly.

quote:

Conclusion

The G3 seems to be better in pretty much every way, yet the One M8 is not far behind. LG G3 has the larger screen with a much higher pixel density yet the One (M8)'s display is more than adequate for any use as well.. LG might have stuffed the G3's 5.5” panel in a relatively compact frame, but the premium aluminum unibody of the One (M8) is still easier to operate with one hand. The G3 might sport a tad faster processor, and a version with 3 GB of RAM, but in everyday interactions it doesn't feel faster than the One (M8).

When it comes to the camera, however, this important section goes entirely on the G3's side. LG's handset has a great 13-megapixel optically-stabilized camera with a much higher image and video quality than what the 4-megapixel camera of the HTC One offers. HTC One M8's advantages before LG's finest, besides the premium design, are the longer battery life, and the better sound output.

In my opinion the G3 and One are pretty much identical on all levels except for screen size and camera.

Don't let HTC's name for their "Ultra Pixel" camera fool you. It's still a 4 mega-pixel camera and it's horrible. They did not do any further software improvements from the M7 to the M8. I had an M7 One and the camera was horrible. I switched it out for a Note 2 within 3 months.

The G3 also has a 5.5" screen compared to the 5" screen on the One.

I just preordered my Verizon G3 after messing around with a coworker's Sprint G3 today. It's an incredible phone.

A coworker got the G3 this weekend and I saw it today. Pretty impressive; excellent display quality.

Sent from my iPad.

Ever since they updated to sense 6, the camera got a WHOLE lot better.

I like my M8 so far. I wouldn't want a bigger phone like the G3. Hell, I wish the M8 was a lil smaller.

They're basically the same size with the G3 being slightly wider

Thanks everyone, picked up the G3 last night and havent really had a chance to mess with it.

I seems nice, but I really wish phones would get smaller. The moto x was about perfect.

I wanted to get an otterbox, but the phone is to big and wont fit in my pocket with that case. Im not putting it on my hip either.

It does have a pretty screen, Im off today and tomorrow so Ill have some time to play with it.

Might I recommend the Spigen Slim Armor case. It's a very slim, dual layer case. A coworker of mine got it for his G3 and I ordered one last night. Amazon has them for $15-$18 right now(depending on choice of color). They're normally $25 from the manufacturer.

Link to order from Amazon.

If you don't have a need for dual layer protection, there's the Ultra Fit Low Profile Case:

And the Ultra Hybrid:
