Picked up a few of these earlier today... Anybody else tried it? How does it stack up against some of the other barrel aged stouts?

It's a stout. Thinness is not a desirable quality.

Do you not want a big BA stout to have a nice mouthfeel and a slight alcohol burn?

Sure but just saying it's no good because it's not as thick or strong as BCS is silly. BCS is at the far end of the spectrum

So Rouge was expressing that it doesn't compare. If that's not what you wanted to hear, you shouldn't have put it in conversation with BCBS.

The Yalobusha Barrel Aged stout should be at Ave Pub by the end of the month.

Not a killer beer, but a great local barrel aged stout.

Nobody's mad. Just saying it's not the same. That observation shouldn't be enough to make you defensive.

Hope you enjoy it.

fired up?

You asked how it compared to BCBS? Rouge told you that it was thin and low ABV%, which does not compare to BCBS...

I agree with the overpriced comment. But most are these days. The beer geek stouts are awesome... but not $7 for a 12 oz bottle awesome

One of the many reasons I rarely buy Mikkeller anymore. I never feel like I get my money's worth.
