Wasn't there a more recent Hercules movie?

I saw the Hercules trailer with The Rock, but I could've sworn there was a Hercules movie that came out not too long ago.

For some reason I don't like the casting of The Rock as Hercules, I can't really explain why but I don't like it

I agree- The Rock is actually a pretty decent actor, thought he was great in Pain and Gain.

Another studio did release a Hercules movie earlier this year. Never saw it, so can't comment on it but I havent heard many good things about it.
Studios typically compete with each other by releasing the same concepts within months of each other.
Think Deep Impact vs. Armageddon, Dante's Peak vs. Volcano, Antz vs. Bugs Life, The Prestige vs. The Illusionist
Just a money grab I guess. You would think the studios would want to come out with something original and do it well, but I guess not!

I saw the Hercules earlier this year. It was meh. I'm a sucker for this genre so I'll see the Rock one too. I'll ignore the fact be doesn't look Greek bc he's a good actor. He's got at least as much range as Clint Eastwood or Harrison Ford.
