Someone please explain this to me...

Why can't Ryno play the Peja role at the 3? I know he isn't very athletic and will struggle guarding the 3, but who cares? We have a legit C and a freak at the 4. Both of them will give us great D near the rim, and AD can creep out and terrorize the midrange.
Jrue
Reke
Ryno
AD
Asik
That gives us plenty of spacing, great inside defense, adequate wing defense with Jrue and Reke, and a peja clone without the bald spot and peja on a stick. We all want a 3 and D SF, but it is what it is...
AR
Sandy
Casspi
Ryno/AD
Anjica/Withey
Second rotation, working AD and Ryno at the 4, depending on minutes and situation, gives us flexibility, decent D all around, and some damn good shooters on the floor. They can at least hold serve.

I agree with you completely.
Hell, he's 6'10, his length should at least slightly bother perimeter shooters. If opposing small forwards try to go around him, then we have very good rim protection now.
He's not a stud athletically or anything but he's far from helpless. The elite 3s will eat him up, but they do that to everybody anyway.
At least with this lineup we have knockdown perimeter shooting on offense, and our best 5 players are on the floor.

Because Ryno got shut down on offense regularly when teams ignored Aminu and stuck their SF defending him. Roll him out as SF on purpose and you give him a bad matchup on both sides of the floor. He does his damage as a Stretch 4. Even if positions are dead, matchups matter.

Not to mention that he makes for a pretty athletic 4. He has the ability to score in the paint and has proven it.
this argument resurfaces the idea that ryno no longer fits on this team. Not saying I want him to be traded, but...

He definitely fits on the team, and makes a great third big, matching well with Davis and Asik. The issue is that we don't have a SF worth a shite on the roster, so people try all kinda of crazy ideas to fix that.

We need three bigs to use at the 4 & 5. Ryno is one of them. That's where his value is to the team. Could you put him out there at the 3 in occasional situations? Maybe, but he proven that he can't play the position very well.

Put AD at the 3
You don't want your best rim protector away from the goal.

Best rim protector is probably Asik, but your point stands. You don't want AD that far away from the paint.

What does it really matter? Anderson hasn't been a "starter" in the majority of the games while playing for the Pelicans, but has averaged somewhere around 33 min per game which puts him as the top MPG player on the team over the past 2 seasons.

I don't care if Ryan comes off the bench or starts. I care about the 3. I figured Ryno was just as athletic as Peja was, but apparently I am mistaken.
Peja worked great at the 3 when we had CP3, DW, and Chandler. I figured Ryno could work pretty damn well when we have Jrue, Reke, AD, and Asik...

if he gets shut down, you feed the ball inside, and let Reke go to the rim. I think the spacing he provides would work well.
WTF do I know, I am a short white guy who's only experience on the court is when my ticket rep let me go to the floor during shoot around...
