Was at the grocery store today, and a lady in her mid-20s pulled out her checkbook for two items. She then proceeds to balance her checkbook the next minute or so right there in front of me while I wait for my items. It' zapped me back about 10 to 15 years.

What say you?

Hubs used to mail child support checks. Now there is some bank app thing that transfers from our account to hers.

So now only our hairdresser to save her having to pay credit card fees on it.

Apartment complex I lived in for a few months this year only took cash or checks.

Probably a decade went by before that since the last one.

My dad wrote a check last year on vacation because he thought it was still like the old days were you could write the check and get a few days before the cash was deducted out of the account. Say you don't have the money in the checking till payday tomorrow, you can write a check and it will not hit the account for 2 more days. Now days more often than not the check is swiped in and handed back to you right then. The money is taken out or pending immediately.

Water bill for our camp. That parish's utilities only accept payment in person or a mailed check--no web pay/auto bank draft/or even pay by phone.

I bet you're fond of Werther's Originals and "Matlock".

I write one check a month to my landlord.
