I love the NYC threads and have used the info on my last 2 trips there. This time I'm going to DC for 3 nights in September and would like some pointers, like maybe one high end place, a few really good 'locals' type places and maybe some bar for good drinks and talent.

On my last trip I went to Atlantico (closed now I think) which was one of Jose Andres places, Jaleo, Old Ebbit Inn, Amy's, Tabbard Inn for brunch, Firefly and a few other places I can not remember.

Citronelle
Citronelle is closed, however Central, Michel Richard's other DC restaurant and is more casual and really good. Blue Duck Tavern is also great, it's in the Park Hyatt.

Food is limited but solid. Unbelievable bourbon and scotch election. They use library style ladders to pull the bottles off the shelf when you order
Fun place

Bistrot du Coin has good people watching. Pizza Paradiso for more casual and excellent beer selection.
