I wasn't sold on Payton before the draft, but he looked pretty good in Orlando. He's a little raw but he's very quick and a good on-ball defender. The Payton-Oladipo backcourt is pretty damn athletic.

Straight line speed matters in football. Not so much as a point unless you're on the fast break. He's got incredible feet and a crossover.

Did he actually win it, or is it just the writers opinion and list?
That said, kid is a stud. I said he would be the best true PG from this draft before the draft and was very impressive in the summer league.
And 480, Payton has been compared to Rondo for a while. I've seen some analysts say he's a blend of Westbrook and Rondo. Similar size and length of Westbrook, plays more like Rondo.
I think he ends up being a top 5 player from this draft when it's all said and done.
