In.

Hopefully this season ends better than it is beginning. Absolutely hate our transfers, in and out, this window (Cesc aside).

Really hope Costa makes me look like a fool for doubting him and I hope Luis excels for at least 3 seasons for what we're paying.

Ivanovic, Luis, Dave, Cahill, JT and Zouma learning from the best. Back four could truly be a fortress this season.

Playing Wycombe. First preseason action. Up 4-0. Youth everywhere.

It's on Chelsea TV.

Bamfordinho, Izzy Brown, JT, and Brana have all scored.

We should be able to park the bus like no other team in the world next year. Only improvements to the backline.

The season comes down to Costa's performance, IMO. I know a lot of us on the board are not high on him...so let's just hope we are wrong. All it takes is some production from him and then we have Schurrle, Hazard, Oscar and Cesc chip in offensively.

Nothing but optimism about next season - fully expect us to challenge for multiple trophies and will be disappointed if we don't take home at least one.

As an aside, what are you expectations of Van Ginkle this year? He got hurt so quickly after we signed him last year that he is practically a new addition to the squad this year. Is he primarily a defensively minded CM?

Any way to watch Chelsea TV in the US? Masked IP?

Possibly could try the Hola! addon for Google Chrome to mask IP to UK.

I have been using this as the litmus test for Chelsea fans. People that don't know it, aren't paying enough attention.

Yeah, it basically started when his teammates couldn't pronounce his name and they just called him Dave. It stuck. I guess it is so common to me because the stadium announcer at Stamford Bridge is a host of the Football Show on Sirius and has only called him Dave for well over a year.

expectations of Van Ginkle

I'm really curious to see what kind of contributions he can make this season. I think he's matured into more of a defensive-minded midfielder, but from what I've read he's not afraid to go on the attack either. If he plays, he'll contribute a few goals.

Regarding Costa, I agree with the vast majority of us that aren't too high on him, but at the very least he's a new face. I don't hate Torres as much as most, but I get sick of seeing the same ole shite up top. I agree with you that if Costa is semi-productive, the creativity in the midfield along with the back four who all want to be strikers, we should be OK.

Very, very excited to watch this team play.

Sometimes strikers take longer than other positions to figure out their game. Costa's going to be huge. Could easily lead the league in scoring this season.

I feel like Costa has an edge to him that Jose really likes in a player.
