Johnson O'Connor Aptitude Testing

Has anyone done this before? From reading their website, it would seem to be helpful for people changing careers or kids going to college. There are testing centers in Texas and Georgia and it's under a grand. Just wondering if it was worth it.

I went to Johnson O' Connor when I was a sophomore. It indicated that people who work in accounting and finance tested highly in the same areas I did. I am an accountant now, so I would say they are legit.
I was very impressed with those guys. They are the best at this stuff IMO, it is no joke and they really dedicate themselves to you while you are there. FWIW I was a Poli Sci major before i went to Johnson O' Connor.
To sum it up: Yes, entirely worth it. You get your money's worth. It is completely personalized.

I went to the one in Addison, TX. I highly recommend it for your kids. It really helped point me in the right direction. I had no reason to really select any major. Johnson O' Connor suggested looking into accounting or finance, so I took my first accounting class and loved it. In addition to that, I also tested highly in sound differentiation and other musical type tests. They said while this may not interest you or indicate you need to work in music, they highly recommended incorporating music into my work or studies (i.e. listening to classical music while I study might really complement my studies well). It is extremely interesting.
My younger brother, and two of my cousins have also since gone and the people I know who have gone leave there very impressed and have great things to say. if your child is needing some motivation or a push in the right direction, this can really be a great way to energize them and get them excited about their schooling.

Also I will be happy to answer any questions you have. I went back in about 2009 but my brother went last year. Should be able to help out though.

Awesome. Thanks.
I keep telling my kids that college isn't worth a shite without a plan. My biggest mistake was not getting any guidance. I want to make sure my kids get some before we spend a ton of money on a shitty degree that they hate.

You got the right idea. This is an effective way to do that. They won't necessarily tell your kids what classes to take, but they tell you in the form of "people in XYZ industry also tested very highly in this area, here are some things you may consider to utilize this information." Their tests are always evolving and they are very creative. From testing how strong your grip is to putting puzzles together, to memorizing numbers, they do it all. One neat thing they do is assign one counselor to you while you are there. They completely familiarize with you and learn a lot about you. From the time you go in until the time you go out, they are the ones who work directly with you. They may have another lady administer a test, but as far as discussing pertinents and tetsing results, it will be one person. They also know to focus on the tester. You can ask questions and everything of course, but they do try to devote 99% of the attention to the tester and really make sure the tester benefits form their sessions.

Would it be too early for my 14 year old to go too in your opinion? I know it's the youngest they accept. Hell, if I'm taking one might as well take two!
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

In my opinion, 14 is young. I honestly thought I was pushing the borderline age when I went as a 19 year old but I was a jackass back then.
Maybe wait on the 14 year old
