How likely will Garth Brook's "return" end in failure?

Heard he wants to make a come-back. I give it a 90% chance it is an epic failure. Those of you know who know who he is, what say you?

Define failure?

Thousands upon thousands of people still love his music (I think his music sucks donkey dick). I imagine he can still make quite a bit of money off of a tour which =/= failure

His sound is perfect for today's country radio. He'll do big numbers

FAILURE = his new music will be poorly accepted by audiences, his shows poorly attended, his efforts largely mocked by younger audiences, and he will end up playing casinos.

He probably won't have to worry about this because he can throw out one of his shitty old songs that everyone loves.

Not happening.

Doubt this matters at all.

Doesn't every country artist eventually do this?

My gut says a Garth Brooks tour would be a huge success.

He already played casinos. Some place in Vegas gave him an assload of money to do a residency. Tickets were around $500 and the place was packed every night. I believed he also headlined some big show at the new Cowboys stadium and packed that place too. If BCS can get him next year he'll sell out Tiger Stadium.

he could just do one song - calling baton rouge - and a bunch of idiots would pay $100 to see it.

Heck, my facebook feed had two status updates about this, and my friends aren't really the country type.

I'm holding out for the Corey Gaines comeback myself.

But seriously, Garth was one of the biggest artits in music (nevermind just the country genre) at one point. Anyone prematurely counting out a comeback would be ignorant of musical history.

It's a nostalgia tour that will make millions upon millions of dollars. Hell, I'll probably go as long as it isn't too expensive.

The album won't do the same numbers as his 90s stuff for obvious reasons, but I'm pretty sure it will do real well.

I'll go see him live. He's saying the prices will be low.
