Birthdays in a week and I'm wanting a new handgun. Kind of leaning towards a ruger 1911 but wanted some other good options ~$700.

Thinking m&p 9mm as well. Any other ideas?

Ended up with a sig 226 MK25. It's awesome.

I think you already listed the best option.

Another thing is a really nice wheelgun for that price.

If you were wanting a 9mm, maybe Sig P250.

The obvious answer is a ruger super Blackhawk in .44magnameter

Not really looking for a wheel gun. My dads already got a few of those I can shoot whenever.

Sig looks pretty good. I was thinking about a p226 but it's a little more than I planned on spending

Want something to just blast for fun or use it for a purpose?

Don't think a ruger 1911 is the wrong answer for either kne

Little of both I guess. All I have now is my CC gun so I wanted something bigger. I'll probably take it places If I'm not CC'ing, but I guess mainly for fun.

Ruger 1911 is where I'd go.

Guess it just boils down to if you're a plastic gun or metal gun guy.

A 1911 or some flavor of sig would be my choices.

I have an M&P Core 5" 9mm. I love it. I have an RMR on it and it is very accurate with follow-up shots. I paid around $650 for mine.

HK VP9 looks very promising. My brother is seriously considering buying one.

Try the Sig Pro 2022. Similar to the 226 but polymer frame. I have two, 9mm and .40 cal and love them, especially the single action mode. Run around $400 or sometimes less if you check around. Very solid pistol.

Might have to check out a p2022. Could drop a lot more $$$ on ammo that way.

Probably gonna stop by Jim's to check a few out on the way home.

If you buy this gun, I wouldn't pay more than $200 for it. Horrible trigger

It's a shame they don't have trained individuals that can fix that kind of thing

Old or new?

I'd love an older model but they're so hard to find.
