I have a 5 yo black Lab who just can't handle bad weather. If it thunders or flashes lightning even once, she just becomes terrified. Quick, shallow panting, heart rate way up, and just continues to rear up on the door in a panic until I let her into the utility room. Once in, she's not coming out of there until it's sunny again. I've had other dogs who may have gotten a little uncomfortable, but nothing like this. This is, however, my first Lab. Any similar experiences or comments on this?

Yes, we have an overweight lab who wouldn't hurt a flea, scared of lightning, thunder, fireworks, any loud booms. He is a huge pussy.

Photo evidence my dog is a certified puss.

My mutt is terrified. She used to just hide under the bed. Now she paces the house and whimpers. It's so annoying.

Yup. It's frustrating at times especially during the summer since we keep him outside. He's gotten out of our yard several times if we're not home before those afternoon storms come to let him in.

Same. All I hear is "tick tick tick" from her feet on the floor pacing all night.

I got some chill pills from the vet though, half of one gets her 3 sheets to the wind and all is well.

We have a lab mix that cannot stand bad weather. She instantly curls up next to someone or goes into one of the bedrooms and lays on the bed crying/barking.

My labs do the same. My wife puts one of those shirts on the female and it seems to work. The male wants no part of it.

My dog had surgery recently (had a tumor in her ear and we had to remove half of her ear) and had to wear a cone. It stormed from 11p until 6a one night and she was pacing in our room the whole night and scraping her cone on everything. She isn't a fan of the thunder...

The picture is misleading. He is just bunched up. Cat is normal size. Normally hate cats but I like that one because he kills shite. Kills more things than that lab ever did.

I have a 10 yr old lab mix who hates thunder. Everytime it rains he goes and hides in the house. He has two spots in the house where he will hide

My rescue mutt hates thunder... rain is fine, but as soon as it starts to thunder she tries to hide under something, usually the computer desk.

The little chihuahua doesn't give a frick.

mine aren't. As soon as I let him out of the yard he tries to sneak up behind and chase the cat.

I think my dog is scared of rain. He sits on the porch when it is raining instead of in the yard like usual
