Do you tell them your major? Obviously, right? Why is it when people have BGS's (Bachelor of General Studies) do they have to say their degree is in General Studies? Whereas people with BS's say theirs is in Biology, Chemistry, Etc. They don't say their degree is in Science as their Bachelor's indicates. So why do people with BGS's have to say theirs is in General Studies?

Scruffy has no idea. Do you have majors and minors in general studies?

Scruffy just says he got a BS in biological sciences with a minor in chemistry.

Because General Studies has no more specific descriptor. It's just the study of bullshite. I guess they could be honest and say they studied the various bars around campus.

You have Concentrations which is very similar to majors and minors in terms of a certain amount of hours (30 I think) that have to be dedicated to that field.

If in a job interview, be as transparent as possible. If if passing conversation, tell them you where you graduated and that you majored in pussy and beer.

I have had countless arguments with people by saying my degree is in Biology and they counteract saying my degree is in General Studies.

Maybe I'm the only one that has this problem

lol, if your degree was in biology it would say BS in Biology, not BGS.

You don't have a Biology degree. You didn't go through the requirements to get a Biology degree. You have a general studies degree where you generally studied some Biology.

I took about 6 Geology courses. I'm don't have a Geology degree, I have an MS in Engineering Science. I don't have a Math degree even though I took numerous math courses.

How hard is this to figure out?

BS in biological sciences is quite a bit more difficult then a BGS. you are being disingenuous saying your degree is in biology.

Honestly, when you graduate in General Studies is about 75% work experience in that field and 25% your degree.

At least in my case it was
